For every child to shine.
Central to the ethos of Clear View Care are the principles of the Social Pedagogy movement. Social Pedagogy means to lead and guide. Influenced by a variety of core theories from education, psychology, sociology and philosophy, it promotes well-being, growth and learning.
With the right support, we all have the potential to shine. At Clear View Care, we believe our young people come to us with a rich variety of knowledge, skills and abilities. Our practice as social pedagogics has four core aims.
We will work with our young people to boost their:-
- well-being and happiness
- holistic learning
- relationships
- empowerment
How we do it.
Well-being and happiness
Our practice is a “rights-based approach,” which aims to provide sustainable well being and happiness. We are responsive to the individual, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
Holistic learning
Learning should be a lifelong process. It enhances our well-being. It can take place in every situation that provides a learning opportunity. At Clear View Care, we are determined to create learning opportunities that give our young people a sense of their unique potential for learning and development.
Relationship
Our goal is to engage with our young people in a supportive and authentic way. We believe this type of connection allows the young person to experience that someone cares for and about them and that they can trust somebody. It also helps them learn the social skills to be able to build strong positive relationships with others. Our team strives for relationships with our young people that are both professional and personal. Our team is, therefore, required continuously to reflect upon the quality of their relationships in order to bring about the best outcomes for young people.
Empowerment
Empowerment allows an individual to experience a sense of control over their lives and to feel involved in decisions affecting them. Ultimately, it helps us make sense of the world. We encourage our young people to take on ownership and responsibility for their learning and their well-being, happiness, and their relationship with the community. Social pedagogy is therefore about supporting empowerment and independence as much as interdependence.
Positive Experiences
Our objective is to provide positive experiences for our young people in a caring environment. Positive experiences and caring relationships, bring happiness, a sense of achievement and new skills. They raise self-confidence, self-worth, well-being, learning and attainment. The ability to have healthy relationships is empowering. It helps to accentuate and develop our positive attributes and to reduce the impact of our less desirable traits. In short, positive relationships boost self-esteem.
Clear View Care provides ethical, dynamic, personalised and creative care. It is our ambition to give children and young people the best possible life experiences and outcomes.
